Chipchain Was Licensed to Advanced 16nm FinFET Process Technology by TSMC and the Chip Design Has Started
Today, Chipchain and TSMC signed a technology licensing agreement. According to the agreement, TSMC will license the PDK of 16nm FinFET process technology to Chipchain, and Chipchain will officially set up a cooperation account in TSMC.
According to the agreement, TSMC will license its 16nm PDK to Chipchain. This process technology can be used to design and develop edge computing smart chips and other large-scale server chips based on a 16nm process technology. This technology will meet the market requirements of chips with high integration, high performance, low power consumption, high storage capacity and diverse functions.
Before licensing the advanced process technology, TSMC made a very strict investigation on Chipchain’s R&D team, management team, investors, technical strength and other aspects. The sales manager of TSMC said TSMC hopes to establish a long-term and lasting cooperative relations but not short-term benefits. For the establishment of a partnership with Chipchain, he said TSMC will provide the maximum technical support to Chipchain to obtain a long-term and win-win cooperation for both sides.
This contract will help to accelerate the chip design of Chipchain and helpto provide the best solutions for customers. By integrating TSMC’s expertise in the field of foundry services, insurance on the yield of advanced processes, and own tape-out experiences accumulated in the industry, Chipchain will provide customers with the best performance chip products.
The licensing agreement signed with TSMC is a strategy implemented by Chipchain to strengthen its leading position in the design of advanced process technologies in order to better serve high-end customers worldwide.
